Miss Dior Cherie

I thought this scent sounded extremely interesting. According to Sephora, the notes are green tangerine, violette, and pink jasmine, patchouli, musk, strawberry leaves and caramelized popcorn. I like violet in small doses, and jasmine is always good. Patchouli not so much, and musk is tricky. But carmelized popcorn? How interesting!
In reality, this perfume went on quite lovely, maybe a touch sweet, but the drydown. Good lord, the drydown was just awful on me. In fact, I would catch a whiff throughout the day and exclaim "I do NOT like this scent on me! It's gross!" Rather unnerving to my employees, I'm sure.
I'm not sure exactly what it was that made it all go so horribly wrong. I suspect patchouli. Patchouli smells to me of unwashed hippies in a crowded head shop. I never caught a whiff of the carmelized popcorn, and that's probably a good thing. The musk probably didn't help the situation, and I never caught the violet.
I usually like Dior (J'Adore is on my fragrance shelf), but this was just wrong on me in so many different ways. Back to Monyette Paris!
