Urban Decay's Alice in Wonderland Palette Acquisition

So, I'm pretty pleased with myself. I managed to talk a sales associate at Sephora into selling me a palette that wasn't technically for sale yet. Apparently the Alice palette isn't going on the shelves until next week, but I managed to score it, because that's how I roll.

Here are some photos:

The pop-up on the top of the palette.

Overall view of the palette - along with the shadows are two eyeliners in Flipside and Zero, as well as a travel size Primer Potion.

All of these shadows exist elsewhere in the Urban Decay arsenal. Here are the new names along with the regularly named shades:

I'll be posting some swatches and looks soon!

Hello, gorgeous.

No real information yet on release date or where you will be able to purchase it, but head on over to the Urban Decay website to be notified ASAP on all the details.

I'm a huge fan of Urban Decay shadows - all of their line, really. I've never gotten a bad product from them. Will you be picking one up?

Get It For Summer: Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy Shimmer Body Lotion

I'm not a fan of Midnight Cowboy eyeshadow - although I'm a huge fan of Urban Decay. But Midnight Cowboy eyeshadow has huge flecks of glitter that fall all over your face and irritate your contacts. It's tricky to work with and usually makes a big mess. So I didn't have high hopes for a lotion named after my eyeshadow nemesis: Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy Shimmer Lotion. I figured it would have huge flakes of glitter that would look obnoxious on anyone over the age of 22.

I was wrong, wrong, wrong. It's a light lotion with just a touch of shimmer to add some highlight to your skin. It looks especially lovely with a tank top or halter at an outdoor party with the sun shining. No obnoxious glitter here - anyone can feel comfortable wearing it at any time.

One of the best things about it is the scent. At Sephora yesterday, there were three of us who were playing with it. I thought it had a touch of coconut scent, another person thought it was vanilla, and Anna thought it was milk and honey. Turns out Anna was right - the website says it has a milk and honey scent, although I didn't get that at all. I got more of a summer smell, which I loved. So perhaps it smells like whatever you want it to smell like! I'm interested in what others think about the scent.

$28 for a nice large 7 oz. tube, which should last you all summer. Available at UrbanDecay.com, Sephora, and Ulta.

Not That It's Important, or Anything...

But if you haven't bought Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin, then you are clearly out of your mind.
Yes, it's that good.

And really, I don't get overly excited about many products, but this one has me all worked up.

Why, you ask? Simple. It takes my favorite eyeshadow primer base and combines it with my absolute favorite Urban Decay shadow, and puts it all into one easy step.

I would describe Sin as a shimmering light beige. Urban Decay calls it champagne. I use it the way others use Stila's Kitten . It makes for a great all over or highlighting shade and it blends well with everything. And now you don't even need the shadow. You can buy it combined with your favorite eye shadow primer. It is your favorite, right?

Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin Available at Sephora

I was just talking about this one, and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Sin is one of my go-to colors in eyeshadow (it works with everything and blends like a dream), and having a primer in this color is going to eliminate at least one of my beauty steps!

If you are a Beauty Insider at Sephora, then you can get your hands on it right now. If you're not a Beauty Insider yet, head on over there and sign up - it's free, and you'll get lots of great samples to try out when you make a purchase.

If you are already a Beauty Insider, then head on over and grab yours!

Urban Decay's Spring Collection Makes Me Want to Shop

I've been browsing over at UrbanDecay.com's website, and I have SO MANY things that I simply must have. They have some seriously great things coming out!

First up, their cream shadow. They have some of the same gorgeous colors that you find in their powder shadows, and some fun new twists. These are actually silicone based and are easy to blend and build. You can combine these with powder shadows as well, and of course it will work better with Primer Potion. I want Asphalt, Rehab, Suburbia, Grass, and Delinquent.

Next is their uber-fantastic 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil. They have four new shades available, each of which looks like it is based on their deluxe eyeshadow shades. They are Flipside, Graffiti, Underground, and Ransom. These eyeliners are simply the best I have ever used, and I have about six or seven of these in various colors in my personal stash.

And if you haven't tried their lipsticks yet, there is one more good reason to do so: they have taken their extremely popular Midnight Cowboy shade and turned it into a lipstick! I would describe it as a nude with lots of glitter/shimmer. It's always been popular and I'm sure this lipstick will be a great hit for them since the nude lip keeps coming back into fashion. And who doesn't need a go-to nude lip when they are rocking the smokey eyes?

Midnight Cowboy also makes an appearance in a new Heavy Metal Glitter Liner alongside Stagedive (turquoise), Catfight (dark pink), and Groupie (pale pink). These are always fun for a night out. I only have one, but it comes in handy.

I also heard a little rumor that Beauty Insiders can take advantage of the new Primer Potion in Sin over at Sephora. Why I haven't done that yet is beyond me, since Sin is my absolute favorite shade of anything Urban Decay has ever done.

What do you think about Urban Decay's new collection? Are you a fan? I've been wearing them for so long that I'm excited to have some new products in the mix.

Today's Eye: More Urban Decay Deluxe Goodness

I am quickly becoming an Urban Decay junkie. I really liked them before, but now I absolutely love them after playing with all their Deluxe Eyeshadows in my Deluxe Shadow Box.

I started today with Primer Potion, then used Underground all over the lid. On the outer corners I brushed Underground from the middle of the lid all the way over the browbone. Then I used Zero in the crease, blending really well. I also used Graffiti under the eyes, then lined them with MAC's Feline pencil, and used MAC's Engraved on the waterline. In the corners, I used Benefit's Miss Popularity.

It's easy to be a little intimidated by the bright shades in the box. But with good blending, and using more than one color, you can really create some great looks. I took Graffiti down a notch by blending in Zero in the crease, so it wasn't so bright. The more I play with them, the more I realize how many looks I can get out of 9 shadows!

Holiday 2008 Collections: Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box

Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box

Just in for the Holiday 2008 collections, Urban Decay gives us another eyeshadow palette to die for. Includes an eyeshadow brush, a travel side of Primer Potion, and the following eyeshadows: YDK (bronzed mocha with golden microglitter), Midnight Cowboy Rides Again (golden beige with bronze, gold, & silver glitter), Flipside (electric teal with blue sheen), Flash (bright iridescent purple), Grifter (sheer lavender with lots of silver microglitter), Oil Slick (black with silver glitter), Uzi (metallic silver with big iridescent sparkles), Kiddie Pool (ocean blue with iridescent glitter), Twice Baked (brownie brown with gold glitter), Half Baked (subtle, lustrous bronze). What is super about this palette, unlike their others, is that the shadows are organized into duos, top matches the bottom. Not that you have to use them this way, but it does give you a starting point.

Today's Eye: Urban Decay's Deluxe Pallette

Today I used my Urban Decay Deluxe Eyeshadow Palette. Love!

I started with the Urban Decay Primer Potion (of course), then used Scratch all over the lid. Next I added Fishnet in the inner corners, and Ransom on the outer corners. I took Fishnet around the corner of the eye and along 1/3 of the lower lid. Ransom went around the rest of the eye, through the corner.

I lined with Glide 24/7 Rockstar, plus MAC's Engraved on the waterline. Lashes feature my typical combo of Make Up For Ever Lash Fibers and my DiorShow on my lashes. Brows are by Urban Decay's Brow Box.

Birthdays, MAC Counters, and Other Stuff

Hello my pretties! No worries, I haven't run off and left the blog to die a slow death: it was my birthday on the 11th, and I have been super busy ever since then!

To celebrate my birthday (and get some new stuff) I went to the MAC counter to get my face done. I mentioned that I really liked the Cult of Cherry collection, and even had a few of the lipsticks, but that the quads kind of scared me. Especially the one with the lime/chartreuse green. So of course my SA decided to show me the light and ended up giving me an amazing eye that I didn't photograph, to my dismay, leaving me to give you the substandard one to the left. So sorry. Anyway, I loved it and ended up buying the quad, of course. Plus I got to play with some of the new things that are launching on Thursday. Let me just tell you - the new eyeliners that are coming out are FAB. You will love them.

I also treated myself to the Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box. A-MA-Zing. Seriously. Look for some bright eye photos coming soon. I've been inspired lately by Eye Candy: 55 Easy Makeup Looks for Glam Lids and Luscious Lashes by Linda Mason, which I highly recommend, and I'll be doing some very different looks soon.

And finally, I leave you with a photo of my other two recent purchases: my Maxx New York bag and my black stiletto heels. Apparently I had the naughty secretary look going on Saturday night while I drank shots that looked like Kool-Aid to celebrate getting one year older.

And now I must go put my credit cards down before I end up in debtors' prison.

Lipstick Porn: Urban Decay Lipstick in Jilted

If you have not checked out the Urban Decay Lipstick line by now, what on earth are you waiting for? I picked up my second shade on Monday, and I can't stop talking about it. This one is Jilted, and it's a blue-based fuschia that is so incredibly vibrant even I can't stop looking at my lips when I have it on.

You can't see it very well here, but I love how Urban Decay stamps their company name on the actual lipstick at the bottom. Combined with the dagger packaging, it's just fantastic.
