Proenza Pink Lipstick by Lancome

Yeah, I'm coming in late on this one. Frankly, I'm surprised that anyone actually LIKED this lipstick to begin with - it's lighter than bubblegum pink. I mean, frankly, it's completely unwearable. It was created specifically for Proenza's show and like most everything you see in fashion shows, it's not wearable by the majority of the public. But surely no one sees these shows and thinks that they are seeing anything other than art, right? Well, apparently consumers have snapped up this hideous lipstick and are even paying super high prices for it on eBay. My question is, why? Why on earth would anyone think that this lipstick is meant for daily use? It's hideously ugly. Oh, I'm sure it was perfect in a fashion show setting, but real life? I don't think it's going to look good on anyone, unless they are deathly pale, white-blond, and totally into that "ghastly" look. Anyway, the NY Times had a piece on this which I added to my del.icio.us over to the left. Take a look and see what you think.

My love affair with Ojon

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

Really, I had to write about these products because I heart them so much. Plus, while surfing QVC.com to see if Heidi Klum's new jewelry collection was online (it wasn't), I found that they sell this entire line. I don't think it's cheaper than Sephora, but I didn't look that hard. Anyway. There was this great "tips" page that has ideas for using each of the products, which I found incredibly helpful. If you're new to the line, I would start with the treatment. Here are some tips, courtesy of QVC.com, to help you out:
Tip #1
If your hair is ultra dry, damaged, or dehydrated, apply Ojon to dry hair and leave it in overnight, placing a towel over your pillowcase or shower cap over your hair. In the morning, use Ultra Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner.

Tip #2
Apply Ojon to hair before swimming in a pool or salt water. This will help protect your hair against the harsh chemicals, UV rays, and sea salt that dry out your hair and affect your hair color.

Tip #3
To keep curly hair hydrated and defined all day, emulsify a very small amount of Ojon between your hands (the size of a grain of rice) and scrunch into damp hair before diffusing.

Tip #4
For the ultimate rejuvenating repair treatment, shampoo with Ojon Detox Recovery Cleanser and dry hair thoroughly. Apply Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment and leave in for 20 minutes or overnight. Rinse and shampoo with Ojon Ultra Hydrating Shampoo. Condition with Ojon Ultra Hydrating Conditioner. Then, detangle and condition with Ojon Revitalizing Mist. Style as desired. Try this ritual every two weeks.

Tip #5
Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment makes a great massage oil for your body and scalp and is currently being used at prestigious spas. The Tawira have been using this moisturizing oil on their skin for over 500 years!

Tip #6
Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment can be used as an incredible nourishing cuticle/nail treatment.

Tip #7
Ojon users tell us that Ojon Restorative Hair treatment is a great grooming treatment for dogs and horses. It leaves their coats incredibly shiny and hydrated.

Enjoy!

Looking Good for Jesus

THIS is my coolest, most favorite bag. When I'm wearing it, I'm not only Looking Good for Jesus, but I'm Enhancing My Holiness. The best news about all of this is not only do I already own this bag, the manufacturer, BlueQ, has an entire line of stuff to help you look good for Jesus! Now, it might be wrong, but if Jesus were alive today, I think he'd be down with this bag. He's got two hotties with great lipstick looking up at him, and he has a sweet blowout. I think he'd be pleased. I know I am, walking around with this bag. The best part? It has a pocket on the front for your mobile phone/ipod/whatever gadget you use. How rockin' is that?

Revlon Limited Edition Just Bitten Lip Stain

Oh, Just Bitten, how much do I love you? More than my Urban Decay Lip Envy. More than my MAC lipstain. So that is a great deal, indeed. First, I am a lover of lipstains. I prefer to put a nice stain on my lips once or twice during the day, and just touch up my gloss. This is because I tend to forget that I'm even wearing a lip product that requires attention at all, and my lips will go bare if they aren't touched with stain. I love the Cherry color, because it does indeed look as if you've been eating a ripe, red, juicy cherry and just didn't care to wipe your lips off. Color is deep and true, and lasts almost 4 hours on me. Only drawback is that once it starts to fade, you must touch up or else you look as if you lined your lips and forgot to fill in with your lipstick. One of the best Revlon products that I've ever tried - I just hope this one will be around in some form in the future. Otherwise, I'm going to have to go stock up now.

Rimmel Stir It Up Cream Eyeshadow

Ulta.com tells us that Stir It Up Eyeshadow is a cream eyeshadow that is comprised of three colors that you "stir" up to make a deep-looking shade. Frankly, when I stirred it up, all I got was a big mess with some huge flecks of glitter. Like the glitter that my kids use at preschool. In pink. It's rather disappointing, really, because the three colors in the pan really look like something I would use. And since I bought something out of the Underground line, I was counting on a bit more glitz than I was used to. But not big huge flakes of glitter. That's just not the look I want during the day. Or ever, really. But the consistency was nice, and it did go on smoothly and evenly, and lasted all day. So perhaps I was overzealous with my stirring. Or I should have used a brush rather than my finger. I'm not ready to write this one off yet, since other Rimmel products I've tried I've been quite happy with. But I wouldn't go get another one of these hoping for a better result just yet.
