Bath and Body Works Anti-Bac Van Hits Sundance

How much fun would it be to cruise around in the Anti-Bac van sharing the message of "spreading love not germs"? Don't even act like you wouldn't love to go for a joy ride in that baby.

Well, if you were a celeb at Sundance, you could have hitched a ride. They took the likes of Terri Seymour (shown above), Shane West, and Constantine Maroulis to their destinations all over Park City.

I bet they didn't get sick either.

The Makeup Show Hits LA

On Sunday, February 8th and Monday, March 1, the Makeup Show will be at the California Market Center from 9 am to 6 pm each day.

There will be hands-on workshops with artists such as Ve Neill, Jon Hennessey, Kathy Aragon, James Vincent, Orlando Santiago, Myles O'Reiley, Christina Farrell, and more.

Visit The Makeup Show online for more information. Meanwhile, I'll be wishing I had the foresight to plan a trip to LA at the end of February! No worries, beauties - I'll be covering the Makeup Show in NYC this spring.

NARS Spring 2010 Collection

The collection was inspired by Catherine Deneuve's role in Lucille in La Chamade:

Mr. Nars was going for shades that were as versatile as they were sexy, and Ms. Deneuve provided some beautiful inspiration.

And without further ado, here is the collection:

Duo Eyeshadow in Kuala Lumpar: gold-infused rose with boysenberry

Duo Cream Eyeshadow in Camargue: golden moss and sienna

Single Eyeshadow in D. Gorgeous: dusty lilac

Lipstick in Crusing: neutral pink

Nail Polish in Purple Rain: intensely gothic purple

Glitter Pencil in Bains Douches: sky blue infused with silver glitter

Lip Gloss in Ophelia: high shine strawberry

Lip Gloss in Easy Lover: springtime fuschia

So, anything that you're wanting to get your hands on? I want to try Easy Lover and definitely the Purple Rain nail polish. That just looks gorgeous.

Urban Decay's Alice in Wonderland Palette Acquisition

So, I'm pretty pleased with myself. I managed to talk a sales associate at Sephora into selling me a palette that wasn't technically for sale yet. Apparently the Alice palette isn't going on the shelves until next week, but I managed to score it, because that's how I roll.

Here are some photos:

The pop-up on the top of the palette.

Overall view of the palette - along with the shadows are two eyeliners in Flipside and Zero, as well as a travel size Primer Potion.

All of these shadows exist elsewhere in the Urban Decay arsenal. Here are the new names along with the regularly named shades:

I'll be posting some swatches and looks soon!

Best Lotions for Dry Winter Skin

It's that time of year again when my skin starts to dry out and look fugly and I have to take some special care in keeping it looking good. I get annoyed at itchy dry skin, and I've tried a lot of different lotions to find the best ones for keeping all the winter dry skin annoyances at bay.

Kiehl's Body Care - Creme De Corps Body Moisturizer 250ml/8.4oz

I picked this one up when I was at an annual meeting in Salt Lake City and the dry desert air was killing me. One application of this product, and my skin felt even better than it did before I got there. A week later, I had decided that I couldn't live without this lotion in my life forever. It still sits proudly on my vanity and I use it constantly.

Olay Quench Therapy Body Lotion, #84968089 - 11.8 Oz

This is a silky smooth lotion that with continued use does an excellent job at keeping rough, dry, and itchy skin away. I've been using this one for the past three weeks, and I'm highly impressed at the job it's doing. Also, try smoothing this one on your feet and sleeping with cotton socks on for the softest feet you can imagine.

Curel Moisture Lotion Ultra Healing Intensive, for Extra Dry Skin 13 fl oz (384 ml)

I never had the chance to try Curel until I was given a sample by the company's PR rep, and I love it. This is a thick, super-moisturizing lotion that specializes in dry skin. Apply right after a shower when you are still damp, and it helps lock in moisture and prevent the itch that dehydrated skin can give you.

Tom Ford Brings Me Pleasure Once Again

Tom Ford is my make-believe boyfriend. Everything he does is just beyond stylish and there isn't anything better than a gorgeous older man in a Tom Ford suit. I'm just saying.

However, this isn't about my obsession with Tom Ford the man. Clearly I have one, but this is about Tom Ford the fragrances. In 2007, Mr. Ford created his Private Blend Collection which included 12 fragrances. Several have been added since then, and all of them are extremely unique.

I don't have a Tom Ford beauty counter anywhere near me, so I was excited to visit the counter at Neiman Marcus in Dallas. All of the fragrances were amazing, but I had to make a choice, and I ended up choosing Champaca Absolute.

Champaca is a relative of the magnolia tree, which has never done much for me in terms of scent. Perhaps most magnolia scents I've smelled were artificial, I'm not sure. So I'm a little surprised that I would be so interested in a champaca note, but I'm not adverse to all grand florals, especially if they are sultry.

And this one definitely qualifes as sultry. In fact, the cognac note makes it wanton and drunken. It's like a perfectly well dressed woman who has just snuck away from a secret rendevous and didn't quite get her blouse situated perfectly. Which is exactly what I expect from Tom Ford - the man has managed to bring pure sex to the market, in my opinion.

The amber and sandalwood base lingers, and it's not overly sweet, which is a departure from most florals. This one just continues to deepen and grow more interesting as you wear it.

And I have other Tom Ford news: the man himself is releasing a line of lipsticks! No product photos yet, or even many details except that there will be 10 shades in the line, but I'm hoping one that will make me look like this:

Complete with the glasses, please. Thanks.
