What Are Your Wardrobe Challenges?

Now it's your turn. Tell me, what are your wardrobe challenges? I bet we have similar ones!

Prescriptives Offers Comfort to Sensitive Skin

I've never had sensitive skin, but I've known many who do, including one of my kids, and it is no walk in the park. Watching what you put on your face is the name of the game, and so much of what is out there just won't work. Prescriptives offers two new ways to help:

Prescriptives Comfort Cream has been reformulated and now offers even more comfort to those suffering from sensitive skin. It helps reduce redness and irritation with tumeric root and vitamins A and E. It hydrates and softens fine lines by restoring the skin's natural moisture level. And of course it's been tested by a dermatologist and an opthalmologist for safety.

The Comfort Night Cream works with the skin's night repair rhythms with peptides to help correct damage and reduce the look of wrinkles. It's a non-greasy treatment that helps rebuild the skin's natural protective barrier.

Grab it at any Prescriptives counter or online at Prescriptives.com.

Fall Collections: Estee Lauder's Amethyst Gold

Not to be confused with the Rose Gold collection I posted about yesterday, the Amethyst Gold collection is similar but offers more of a rich plum to it's fall neutrals.

The eyeshadow quad has the shimmery hammered metal top, but is quickly brushed away to reveal gorgeous shades that are nicely pigmented and easy to blend. Here are the swatches:

It might be hard to tell, but the darkest shade here is more of a burnished plum - it's gorgeous in the crease and outer corners of the eye.

Also worth mentioning is the gorgeous nail color that comes with this collection. It's a creamy plum with no shimmer at all. It's not matte, but more of a cream. Absolutely lovely on.

Grab this collection at any Estee Lauder counter or at EsteeLauder.com.

Fall Collections: Estee Lauder's Rose Gold

I've been meaning to write about this collection for some time now, but I haven't gotten around to it because I've been playing with it so much!

This is a great collection to ease yourself into fall with. It's almost surprising that it is fall, since it has a touch of bronze to it, but as you put all the colors together you can see that it is much more rich than your typical summer bronze collection.

The standout is the quad eyeshadow, called (what else?) Rose Gold. It has a hammered gold design, but don't let the crazy shimmer of the shadows scare you - it's just a surface thing and quickly is swiped away to reveal beautiful, pigmented shades underneath.

As you can see, the colors work perfectly together and are very blendable. Super easy to work with, and the colors are lovely.

All the other products in the line match these colors perfectly, from the creamy moisturizing lipstick to the gorgeous shimmery nail polish. If you're a lip gloss fiend like I am, you will love the tri-color gloss. It's not sticky, but it's thick enough to stay put for awhile. Three shades of rose blend together easily as you pull the wand out to give you just the right shade.

You can pick this collection up at any Estee Lauder counter or at EsteeLauder.com.

I Love Products That Come With Instructions

Smoky Eye Kit

I was browsing around today thinking about how I was doing quite a bit of traveling lately, and avoiding checking bags. I think it's pretty absurd to check a bag every time I get on an airplane, so I've gotten into the habit of rolling and folding everything down into the smallest possible square that I can, and only taking exactly what I need to get through a trip. Ordinarily, I'd just throw everything and the kitchen sink in there, thinking that it's always best to have too much.

At any rate, I'm wandering through and I came across this great little kit. Now, I love me some palettes. They are so easy to travel with, and if I can find one with just about everything in it, I'm thrilled. But eye palettes are especially valuable because I don't have to pack all my eyeshadow singles. But the best part about the Smoky Eye Kit by Too Faced are the three instruction cards they throw in there.

There are three looks: Day Smoke, Fashion Smoke, and Classic Smoke. The day smoke shades are primarily neutral. I've swatched them for you:

There really are three shades there, it's just that one almost exactly matches my skin tone. Nifty!

Fashion smoke isn't breaking any new ground, but it combines blue, green, and taupe. Might want to follow instructions carefully here if you don't want to look like someone punched you in the eye:

Again, nothing shocking, but really quite pretty.

Finally, classic smoke is your gray and black colors.

There are two shades of black here - one is more matte, one has shimmer.

The benefit to this kit is ease of travel. I'm thinking of taking mine with me to NYFW and calling it good in terms of eye makeup. I'd pretty much have everything I need. Except my mascara. The other benefit is the instruction cards. They aren't incredibly detailed, but they give you a direction in which to go. Plus pictures, which is handy.

Grab yours at Ulta for $34.00.
