Saturday's Cocktails: Italian Fruit Punch

I'm ready to have a sunny day around here, how about you all? I've had lots of snow, cold, and rain lately, plus a big huge head cold. So all I can think about is a great fruit punch with a bit of a kick. Here is Giada Laurentiis's recipe:

  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 2 cups chilled sparkling water
  • 1/2 cup maraschino liqueur
  • 1/4 cup limoncello
  • Ice
  • Black licorice, for garnish
Combine all the ingredients, except the licorice, in a pitcher. Stir to mix. Pour into glasses and garnish with a stalk of licorice.

And this pitcher here? It's on sale for $22.97 at Amazon. Isn't it gorgeous?

Product Review: Fresh Lotus Eye Gel

While it's called a gel, Fresh Lotus Eye Gel really isn't. It's more like a light lotion that goes on very smoothly and feels quite light.

I've long since given up on anything that claims to solve my undereye problems. I don't really look for a quick fix for my undereye circles or the puffiness that I always seem to have. So while all of these are claimed, I don't really pay much attention to it. I'm always looking for a good undereye moisturizer that isn't overly heavy, and this one fits the bill nicely.

As a bonus, it did seem to help those "signs of fatigue" that I was experiencing. I credit my concealer with helping with the dark circles, but I will give credit where it's due with the puffiness - it really did seem to help, quite a bit actually.

It has a nice scent of cucumbers, and you'll probably like it quit a bit. However, it is a bit of the pricey side: about $48 for 1.5 mL.

Definitely a splurge for some high end skin care.

Congrats to the Kiss My Face Set Winner!

Have You Heard About Too Faced's Lip of Luxury?

While I've tried lots of Too Faced eye shadow combos (and loved them all), I only just recently found out about their lip product called Lip Of Luxury.

This formula contains shea butter and claims to help smooth out fine lines in and around the lips. The neat thing about it? It has fizzy and tasty champagne essences in it.

Comes in eight gorgeous shades, from shimmer to matte, so there is something for everyone.

Have you tried it? Is it really fabulous? I haven't seen it in my local Sephora, but I'll be looking for it.

Too Faced Lip Of Luxury, $18.

Congrats to the Winner of the Karmin Titanium Hair Iron!

Product Review: 100% Pure Juicy Shower Gel

I have a thing for bath products, especially ones that smell delicious. And there is a plethora of bath products out there, how can one choose? Personally, I'm just slowly making my way through all of them so I can eventually find the ones that make me happy.

I just tried 100% Pure's Fresh Squeezed Juicy Shower Gel today, and I really liked it. It has a fantastic scent, and truly smelled like freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. It was perfect for a morning shower because it was invigorating and helped me wake up.

The one downside is that it's not a hugely foaming cleanser. This isn't a big deal at all to me, because I'm used to more natural products that don't have a lot of the lathering ingredients, but it can be a little surprising for people who aren't used to it.

100% Pure Fresh Squeezed Shower Gel retails for about $15 and can be found at stores such as The Limited, Bath and Body Works, and Ulta.

Stila Loves Barbie: Ordered Mine!

I thought I was going to have a really hard time picking out my Barbie paint can, but I didn't at all. It was pretty obvious that Stila Barbie Loves Stila Paint Can - 1959 #1 Ponytail Doll was going to be the one for me. I even had a Barbie like that! And no, I'm not that old, but someone gave it to me. Too bad I didn't keep it, because it's probably worth a fortune now.

The three-pan palette contains eyeshadows, a cheek color, and matte red lipstick so you can create the iconic look with just one kit at your fingertips.

I can't wait to play with it. Especially that red lipstick!

Lazy Sunday Music: Heartless by Kanye

I don't even have to type "Kanye West" anymore, do I? If you just say "Kanye," everyone knows exactly who you're talking about. I don't know how he would feel about it, though. One wonders if it would irritate him enough to throw a shoe at you and say, "It's Mr. West, damn it!"

Anyway, love the video, but then again, I love all of his videos. You can grab it from Kanye West - 808s & Heartbreak (Bonus Video Version) - Heartless.

Have a Little Cash in this Economic Downturn?

Cocoon Cashmere Cardigan Was $320, now $192.
Because, honestly. It's always a good idea to buy cashmere. You know you'll need it next winter, even if you don't get a chance to wear it this season (and by the looks of things, you probably will since it's been about 35 degrees here in Virginia Beach).

Whistle & Flute Button Trim Turtleneck. Was $196, now $58.45. Because I love the detail on this top, and it would be a perfect work shirt.

There is really too much to list. But I see a few things that are getting my attention. There is stuff for expecting moms, kids, and lots more, too.
