Essie's Short Shorts (Neon Pink)

In this picture, I am desperately trying to illustrate that the Essie Short Shorts color is absolutely gorgeous against tanned skin. Since I don't really have nicely tanned skin (it's been awhile since I have used my self-tanner), I needed to use my daughter. She was blessed with the most amazing skin that turns a gorgeous shade of brown.

Would You Use Press On Eyeshadow?

Sephora is thinking you might. ColorOn is an all-mineral formulation created by makeup artist Irina Iosilevich. There are six sets, including the one you see here, which is called the Exotic Kit, and includes cammo, zebra stripes, and what looks to be cheetah print.

The other kits don't look quite as crazy. There is a smokey eye kit, and the rest look to be organized by color, such as grays, bronzes, and neutrals.

For $25, you a kit with five pairs of eyeshadow appliques, a brush, and a jar of setting powder.

I'm interested to hear what you think. Is this something you would try? Is the price reasonable for what you get?

iLove the New Millennium

Anyone else watching iLove the New Millennium? I think they are a little ahead of the game, seeing as how this decade isn't over, but it's still way too funny. I think I should be one of those snarky people commenting on everything.

If you haven't caught it yet, just tune in to VH1. They are pretty much playing it all day every day. No need to even TiVO.

Mix it Up

Just another summer outfit. I actually own the shoes, and I've been trying to figure out what to pair them with. I am really loving the brights this season, but what I don't like is the monocromatic dressing that is going on. Mix it up, people! Have fun with it! You know that we are going to be back to boring gray and black soon enough.

Sephora by OPI

Looks like OPI has teamed up with Sephora to bring you six fall shades for $9 each. These will be available in stores early August, and online by late July. The colors are, from left to right: Don't Go There, Meet For Drinks, I'm With Brad, Never Enough Shoes, Metro Chic and Run With It. The line will also include a base coat, top coat, quick dry, and polish remover. What do you think about the shades? I can't wait to see them in person.

In Case You Hadn't Heard

In case you haven't heard the news, this Saturday, June 28, all flip flops at Old Navy will be only $1. So, if you need to indulge in rubber shoes (hopefully just for the beach, or the shower in your dorm, or whatever), this Saturday would definitely be the time to do it. If I can bring myself to face the mall, I might pick up these gold ones to wear to the waterpark.

Eyeshadow Master Class

Eye Shadow Master Class

Sometimes it's good to go back to the basics. I always appreciate a good tutorial - even if you're the best at applying your makeup, I guarantee you can always pick up a tip or two from a good tutorial.

Style Spy Looks at Dior's Resort by Galliano

Isn't that top completely amazing? I know it's a bit hard to see in this photo, but the details are just to die for. The Funky Little Fashion Troll's (who doesn't love The Manolo?) latest collection is up, and I am in love with just about every single piece. Go on over and check out The Style Spy's comments with photos, because I swear I agree with every single little thing she says about them. Long live 1974!

MAC's Tendertones

I know that a person can get MAC Fatigue, what with all the coverage of MAC cosmetics that is out there. While I like MAC, and always stop by the counter to see what their latest offerings are, I don't write about them very often because everyone else covers them extensively and with great skill.

But I recently picked up a little something while browsing the MAC exclusives at Nordstrom (they aren't available yet, but the bright color kits look really fun). It's one of the Tendertones in Sweet & Nice.

I'm not really sure how to describe this product. It's essentially lip gloss in a pot, with a sweet grape-candy smell. While I'm not a huge fan of the smell (I really do not want to run around smelling like candy - I'm not 13), I do really like the gloss itself. It has a nice pigment to it, not overly dark, which is nice considering this no-makeup thing I've had going on while I've been home these past two weeks. It's easily applied with a finger, although you could use a brush if that's your thing - I'm sure the brush would give you a more precise application. But the best part about it is the SPF protection it offers while giving you a nice glossy sheen.

Hurry, though, if you're interested. This is a limited-time only product, and many colors are already sold out online. My local Nordstrom had all of them, though, so it might not be hard to find them locally.

The Ting Tings - Shut Up And Let Me Go

I don't think I'm supposed to like "teeny-bopper" music, but this song is just stuck in my head!

It's called "Shut Up and Let Me Go," and it's by the British pop group The Ting Tings. Grab it at The Ting Tings - We Started Nothing - Shut Up and Let Me Go.

Moving On Up

Virginia Beach is really moving up in the world. Not only are we getting our very own Sephora, but now I discover an Ulta store taking shape at one of our new outdoor shopping centers. I'm stunned! Now all we need is a Trader Joe's, and I'll finally believe that I live in a city, versus a cute little beach town.

Posietint by Benefit: Now With Free Shipping

This is not a product that I have actually used. However, I'm having a major lemming for it. I was never able to really rock the Benetint, it just didn't seem to work well for me. It was just too tricky for me to deal with, and I ended up looking like I had red stripes on my cheeks. I'm quite sure it was user error, and I just need a bit more practice. In the meantime, the cute pinkness of this product looks like it would be right up my alley, especially for the spring and summer. Here are a few reviews from some beauty bloggers that you should check out, as most of them are quite favorable:
