What I've Been Using on My Face Lately

This has been a long time coming, but I'm finally sitting down to share my skincare secret. It's not really a secret, but finding something that works for me is so rare and unusual so I must sing praises to the heavens.

I praised the Skin Genesis line last year, but they have added so much more to it, and for more than just "normal" skin types. Those of us with trickier skin can now find what they are looking for in the line as well. I personally have problems with oily breakout-prone skin, and I'm also in my 30's, so I have an interest in anti-aging. Those two things don't often go together, but with me they are important.

I start by removing my eye makeup. I'm currently using Sephora's Waterproof Eye Makeup remover. More on that later.

Next, I hit it with Deep Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser. It has natural clay, salicylic acid to fight the breakouts, and microbeads for exfoliation. It deep cleanses without stripping your face, and compliments the rest of the Skin Genesis routine perfectly.

Next comes the Pore Minimizing Skin Resmoother. This stuff is the bomb. While I've tried a lot of products that claim to do something (anything) to your pores, this one actually does it. After a month of using this regimen exclusively, I can say that my pores definitely look different and my skin feels much smoother. It contains Pro-Xylane and Hylarounic Acid (be sure to check out my first review of Skin Genesis for more information on these terms and the benefits of these ingredients). I am seriously in love with this stuff, and will be buying more when this bottle of goodness runs out.

As a final touch, I like to use the Daily Moisturizer Oil Free Lotion. This moisturizer looks as if it has a touch of luminizing sheen to it, and it certainly doesn't hurt the looks of my face. Non-greasy but still enough to keep the flakes away. It says that it boosts cellular renewal to help erase fine lines. While I haven't looked specifically for line reduction, as I said in my last review, I certainly haven't seen any new ones. Works for me! Plus, it has the added benefit of keeping my skin super smooth and touchable.

And finally, more of a accessory and not a daily requirement, is the Micro-Smoothing Wet Cleasing Towelettes. These things are fabulous for travel, or when you're just feeling lazy. It does a fantastic job is removing makeup from my eyes, even waterproof mascara. It also includes salicylic acid for the breakout prone, although I wouldn't recommend using it as a daily cleanser - I don't get the feeling that it would be as effective as the cream cleanser.

All in all, this is a fantastic drugstore line that I would highly recommend to anyone who has tricky skin like I do. I think it stands head to head with any higher priced line out there, in terms of what it does and the benefits of the line.

I will definitely be repurchasing and am eager to see if they continue with this line.
