I was looking around to see if this particular Mineralize was still available from MAC, and when it wasn't, I remembered that I grabbed it from the Cosmetics Company Store when I was at the outlet mall recently. If you haven't been to a Cosmetics Company Store, what are you waiting for? Amazing deals on Estee Lauder, MAC, Bobbi Brown and Origins. I loved it.
Anyway, I used only those two shades, plus my Chanel eye pencil in Blue Jean, which, unfortunately, was also a limited edition this past spring. Because I'm lazy, all that is on my lashes is a couple of swipes of Lash Injection by Too Faced.

Today's Eyes: Bleu Celeste
I was inspired by Temptalia's Blue Eyes Challenge, so today I broke out my Chanel Bleu Celeste palette and Blue Jean eyeliner. My looks aren't nearly as dramatic as the ones on Temptalia's site, but trust me - this is as much blue as one girl really needs.
On my lashes I'm also wearing Urban Decay Big Fatty Colored Mascara in indigo. It's really fun, and the formula is just as good as the regular Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara
.
FOTD: It's all about the teal mascara
It's a Chanel day today. With the exception of my NARS Orgasm Blush
, of course. But the product that is really getting me going lately is the teal mascara from Chanel's summer collection. Yes, it's teal. No, I'm not kidding, and yes, I'm wearing it. No worries - it's not the crazy colors you remember
from the 80s (if you're my age, anyway - some of you won't remember the shocking yellow mascara we all wore for about two days).
ANYWAY. It's Chanel's Inimitable Mascara in emeraude. And I really like it. Here is how I use it:
- Apply two coats of Lorac Lotsa Lash Mascara in Black
and let dry throughly.
- Apply one coat of the Chanel. Brush out well, or else you might have a clumpathon going on, I usually do.
- Let it dry completely and apply another coat of Chanel if you really want the teal to pop.
On my lips I'm wearing Gazelle, the gloss from the same collection, which I love. Don't look for lasting power, though. But it's super fab while it lasts.
And as a final touch, I'm wearing Bobbi Brown Beach EDP Fragrance Spray
Random Thoughts for Today
I have no idea why, but I can't seem to put together a coherent post today! So let me just bulletize what is going on in my head:
- Audrey Tatou is the new face of Chanel, and she was simply gorgeous at the Met's gala last night. Have I mentioned how gorgeous I think she is?
- I am obsessed with Madonna's new song Four Minutes. Madonna is hot, JT is sexy, and Timbaland is a genius.
- My big win from the Macy's raffle was disappointing: a beach bag, a beach towel, some Maidenform flip flops, soap from the dollar store, and two Clarins products.
- I did, however, make a Chanel haul when I was picking up my prize: Flamingo nail polish and the green mascara, both from the summer collection which I am loving beyond all measure. I must do a FOTD.
- I am completely obsessed with The Tudors. If you aren't watching this show, you absolutely should be.
- I still have not seen Juno, although I did go see Horton Hears a Who. I obviously have children!
Chanel Summer Collection: Oasis Swatches
It would be nice if I would actually use my digital camera rather than my iPhone. But it was there, and well, I was in a hurry. Here we have Chanel's limited edition eye quad in Oasis. I was really excited about this quad, and then I put it on and I was kind of meh about it. I do love the liner, Vert Bronze, though. It goes very well with these colors and glides on much easier than my other Chanel eyeliner. It is the waterproof liner versus the eye pencil.
I think I will grow to love these as I use them more. The green/khaki on the far left is really lovely in the crease, and the bronze on the far right is dark enough to use almost completely on it's own with a shimmery coppery eyeliner to really get that bronze look. It's the peach and pink I'm struggling with. However, they are heavily pigmented, just as you would expect from Chanel, although they didn't have the shimmer that I thought they would. Regardless, I'll be wearing this quad a lot this summer.
Do you love my shower curtain? Of course you do.
Chanel Quad Eyeshadow in Bleu Celestes
This compact is everything you would expect from the house of Chanel. Gorgeous shades, incredible pigmentation, long wear, perfect amount of shimmer vs. matte, shades that work perfectly together, and a price that is out of this world expensive. If paying $55 for an eyeshadow quad isn't out of your price range, then this is one that you won't want to pass up. I purchased mine at Nordstrom, but you can find it online (with a video!) on Chanel's website.
