Loving Right Now: Soap and Glory Mighty Mouth Kit

Soap & Glory Mighty Mouth Kit

It's wintertime, and that means my lips can be a flaky mess if I don't take care of them. Because it's been so cold, our heater has run just about nonstop, and I've noticed that my lips are exceptionally dried out this year, so while I was browsing in Target the other day, I stumbled across this cute little set.

The Soap & Glory Mighty Mouth Kit comes with a two-sided exfoliator and balm as well as a nude gloss that helps plump the lips while giving a great shine. The exfoliator works like a dream. It is a solid that you just rub over your lips no more than twice a day and it exfoliates with natural ingredients (I am not certain, but it feels like dried oatmeal), then follow it up with the other side, a softening balm that smells pleasantly like coconut.

The tube of glossy goodness that comes with it is supposed to be a lip plumper, but I never put much stock in those things. I do, however, appreciate that it is a lovely color with lots of shimmer and shine. It tingles for a bit after applying it, but it lasts a decent time.

The Soap & Glory Mighty Mouth Kit is available at Target, Amazon, and Boots if you're in the U.K.

Product Review: Korres Lip Butter

Lip Butter

There is a special place in my heart for Korres Lip Butter. It was one of the few things I could reach when I was close to death in my hotel room in New York City with just me and the H1N1 virus. Because nothing will dry out your lips faster than a 104 fever, let me tell you beauties.

I didn't realize until later that it actually has a nice light pink color that makes even sickly pale lips look almost normal. And the moisture is like a dream. Now I keep a pot both in my purse and on my nightstand for the long winter nights ahead.

Korres Lip Butter, $9 at ULTA Beauty.

In the Battle of the Lip Balms, I Declare a Winner

Like many of you, I'm obsessed with lip balms. I mean, really, who wants "chappy lips" as we call them in my house? I can't do anything without something on my lips, and the last thing I do before going to sleep is to put something on my lips to keep them moisturized and heathy through the night, since I know my daytime lip is going to involve color, rather than nutrition.

Enter Lisa Hoffman Spa Facial Lip Moisturizer. I received this to try while I was in New York recently, and when I couldn't find my usual Rosebud salve, I decided to try this one out. At first, I thought it was a little weird. First of all, it's a pretty large bottle, nothing like your usual lip balm. Then, I pumped some out, and it was a clear gel. I thought for sure this was going to be a big bust, because, really? A clear gel? How moisturizing could that be? I was wrong. It doesn't take much - just a tiny bit smoothed on your lips feels absolutely amazing. It's nice and thick, just like I like my balms to be, and it lasts a long time.

I'll be keeping this on my nightstand for the winter - it's going to ward off dry, cracked, and uncomfortably dry lips. Grab it at LisaHoffmanBeauty.com for $24.95/.47 oz.
