Allure Magazine is Giving Stuff Away Again!
Allure always gives away the best stuff. I'm always surprised that I never try to win anything - I mean, it can't be that hard, right? But I have so much stuff anyway, and I can't ever keep the dates straight. I should probably utilize my iCal for that sort of thing.

Review and Giveaway: Sheer Organic Shine by Kiss My Face
There are some lip glosses that I just don't expect much out of, especially tinted ones. But I was very pleasantly surprised when I tried out each color of the Sheer Organic Shine from Kiss My Face.
These glosses are actually quite pigmented and have a lovely minty smell. They also have a slight tingling sensation on the lips, but it isn't unpleasant. I'm assuming it's due to the peppermint oil in the ingredients.
My personal favorite right now is the Garnet shade - it gives me a great red tint without being overwhelming, and stays on a decent amount of time. I never find any gloss that lasts forever, but this one is about average in that regard, which is pretty much all I expect out of a gloss.

Tuesday Book Review and Giveaway!
If you ever needed a "go to" book about makeup, I think Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual: For Everyone from Beginner to Pro
I actually learned quite a bit from this book, especially when it comes to color correction. Bobbi takes you through each makeup product, and explains what it is, how you use it, and gives you step by step directions and photos so you don't mess it all up. Neato!
Along with that, she discusses skincare, special makeup applications, bridal makeup, and her own 10 step guide to a basic look.
And for those of you interested in breaking into the makeup artist biz, there is a complete chapter for you too, full of helpful information as well as a who's who in the beauty industry.
