I Truly Lust After This: Dior's Holiday 2008 Palette
Is this not the most fantastic thing you have ever seen? This little palette is from Dior's Holiday 2008 collection, and isn't available yet, much to my dismay. Six shadows, Diorshow Blackout Mascara, DiorAddict gloss, a blush, and their new product for the collection, Dior Black Diamond Diamond-Effect Powder. Formulated with mother-of-pearl, this finishing powder is designed to give you a glamorous glow.
I must have it.

Style Spy Looks at Dior's Resort by Galliano
Isn't that top completely amazing? I know it's a bit hard to see in this photo, but the details are just to die for. The Funky Little Fashion Troll's (who doesn't love The Manolo?) latest collection is up, and I am in love with just about every single piece. Go on over and check out The Style Spy's comments with photos, because I swear I agree with every single little thing she says about them. Long live 1974!
Diorshow Blackout Mascara
My love for Diorshow is well documented. It's my holy grail mascara, and I can't imagine using anything else. So when I noticed a limited edition Blackout Diorshow at Sephora, I decided to give it a whirl.
Love it. It's black, intense, and perfect with the smokey eye. I coupled mine with my Techno palette from Hard Candy and loved the results. The black truly is different, although I don't know exactly what about it would make it so.
So if you're a Diorshow lover and are looking for a dramatic and intense eye, grab this one while you can. It's only at Sephora and only for a limited time.
Miss Dior Cherie
I thought this scent sounded extremely interesting. According to Sephora, the notes are green tangerine, violette, and pink jasmine, patchouli, musk, strawberry leaves and caramelized popcorn. I like violet in small doses, and jasmine is always good. Patchouli not so much, and musk is tricky. But carmelized popcorn? How interesting!
In reality, this perfume went on quite lovely, maybe a touch sweet, but the drydown. Good lord, the drydown was just awful on me. In fact, I would catch a whiff throughout the day and exclaim "I do NOT like this scent on me! It's gross!" Rather unnerving to my employees, I'm sure.
I'm not sure exactly what it was that made it all go so horribly wrong. I suspect patchouli. Patchouli smells to me of unwashed hippies in a crowded head shop. I never caught a whiff of the carmelized popcorn, and that's probably a good thing. The musk probably didn't help the situation, and I never caught the violet.
I usually like Dior (J'Adore is on my fragrance shelf), but this was just wrong on me in so many different ways. Back to Monyette Paris!
