I was around in the 80's, and I remember my mom always wearing Opium. It's such a beautiful fragrance, and will always be a classic favorite of mine.
YSL is offering free two day shipping on their classics, and you can find them here: YSL's Classics for Women, and YSL's Classics for Men.
Now, go stock up on beautiful fragrances while I figure out the best way to hide the Fur Real Butterscotch Pony that I bought my daughter. Jeez.

In Case You Needed Another Reason to Shop Macys

Here are a few things I'd like Santa to bring me this year:

Lauren by Ralph Lauren Cashmere Turtleneck Dress on sale for $164.50, regularly $329. Seriously? Cashmere? Dress? for about $165? Why is this not in my closet?
Nine West "You're So Cute" Boot, on sale for $118.30. I've only been looking for these boots for two years.
Crocs "Nadia" Boot, on sale for $59.99. Honey, no. $60 is still far too much for this.
Saturday's Cocktails: The Tinsel Bellini
I am throwing not one, but two holiday parties this year at my house. I don't know why I do it to myself, but there it is. Needless to say, I've already started planning, because I like to do it up right.
Marie Claire actually has a helpful little party planner guide, and while flipping through it I found a whole mess (that's myspeak for a "whole bunch") of holiday cocktail recipes. I'll be trying some of these out for my party. This is one of them.
Tinsel Bellini
- 2 oz. HPNOTIQ
- 1 oz. limoncello
- 1 oz. champage or sparkling white wine
- splash of lime juice
Rim the Champagne Flute with a light coat of sugar. Pour chilled HPNOTIQ, Limoncello and Champagne into the champagne flute. Add a splash of lime juice.
And before you ask me about the champagne flute above, the answer is, I don't know. But I did find some that are very similar (you'll have to tie on the pretty silver string). Check out the Schott Zwiesel Pure Tritan Crystal Champagne Flutes Set of 6
Limited Edition Seasonal Favorites at the Body Shop
It's that time of year again! All the bath and body companies are putting out their seasonal scents, and since we love limited edition anything, we're covering them all!
The Body Shop has three favorites this year: Cranberry, Vanilla Spice, and Warm Amber, which is my personal favorite. The Cranberry seems to have the most options, but you can find some shimmering goodness in any of them.
And, I found a coupon code for you: Bath and Body Products - 30% Off. Shop Now
Happy shopping! And don't forget your hostess gifts!

For the Men Fridays: Bliss Wild Beard Stuff Set
The Bliss Wild Beard Stuff Set includes two of the mens bestsellers of the Bliss line: 'homme' improvement thermal shaving cream and 'homme' improvement post-shave repair lotion at a special price of $32. Not bad for such a great combo of products!
'homme' improvement thermal shaving cream is unique in the fact that it is a self-heating lotion that offers a friction-free glide for shaving. It also boasts essential oils that supposedly boost beta-endorphins.
'homme' improvement post-shave repair lotion soothes just-shaved skin and help prevent ingrown hairs. It also boasts the essential oils that may help boost beta-endorphins.

Holiday Collections: Clarins Chic and Glam Black Palette
The Chic and Glam Black Palette is a lovely way to take everything you need right along with you.
I am so much more likely to carry a palette like this around since it has everything already in it, negating the need for me to carry around several different products. It's also a fab way to get yourself through airport security without any problems.
Each palette comes with three eyeshadows (to build that smokey eye), two lip glosses, one mascara, one compact powder plus accessories such as a sponge, eye brush, lip brush and mirror.
And the accompanying black bag is gorgeous, and still small enough to fit into that clutch that you'll be carrying around for the holiday party circuit.
Chic and Glam Black Palette, $40 at Clarins.com.
No Sephora Friends and Family This Year? The Muse Says No
One of my favorite beauty bloggers has just dealt me a shattering blow. Turns out that we may not see the usual Friends and Family 20% discount at Sephora this year! I'm crushed. Check out Musings of a Muse for more information this shocking turn of events.
Limited Edition Estee Lauder Holiday Collection: Vintage Jewels
I mentioned recently how I was loving the look of the new collection by Estee Lauder called Vintage Jewels. Now I have more photos, and they are just lovely. It is described as "decadent color collection of quiet blacks illuminated by hints of rich Amethyst, Sapphire and Emerald gemstone hues.
I love darker colors for the fall and winter, and these fit the bill perfectly. This is a photo of the Signature Eye Shadow Duos in Sapphire. Also available are Amethyst and Emerald. Complete the look with the limited edition Smoked Eye Pencil in Smoked Amethyst, Smoked Emerald, and Smoked Sapphire. The liners are made not only with pearls to give that true pearly effect, they also have moisturizing oils such as jojoba, vitamin E, and cottonseed so that they don't tug at the delicate eye skin while lining. The Shimmering Jewel Powder, seen above, is designed for those holiday occasions where you need just a t
ouch of shimmer. Not overpowering, just enough to add a glow. Wear it over makeup or on it's own.
Also as part of the collection are two new shades of Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick in Black Cherry and Ruby. Can you tell the lipstick has a special cut bullet to match the gemstone look of the collection? Love it.
Had to give you one more shot of that gorgeous lipstick against the Amethyst colors. Will you picking up any part of this collection? I know I'll be heading to the counters to see if it works for me.
Holiday 2008: Kipling Loves Too Faced
How cute is this bag? And yes, that is a monkey wearing a bustier. You know you want it.
At any rate, I know I do. This gorgeous Kipling bag holds Lash Injection, Starry Eyed liner, Shadow Insurance and eyeshadow duo. And it has a monkey wearing a bustier! All of this for $29.50. The makeup inside is worth over $60, and how can you put a price on a monkey wearing a pink bustier and red lipstick?
Beginning in October, the Kipling Loves Too Faced collection will be available at www.kipling-usa.com; Kipling® stores in Miami, Fla.; Garden City, N.Y.; Rockaway, N.J.; San Francisco, C.A.; and Los Angeles, C.A.; in addition to select Macy’s and Dillard’s department stores. The signature “Too Faced Loves Kipling” bag will only be available at Sephora, Sephora.com, Ulta stores and toofaced.com.
If I'm on your shopping list, I think I have made it clear what I want in my stocking, and it includes a monkey wearing a bustier!
PS: you can read what I think about Lash Injection if you have any doubts about the greatness of this set.
Holiday 2008 Collections: Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box
Just in for the Holiday 2008 collections, Urban Decay gives us another eyeshadow palette to die for. Includes an eyeshadow brush, a travel side of Primer Potion, and the following eyeshadows: YDK (bronzed mocha with golden microglitter), Midnight Cowboy Rides Again (golden beige with bronze, gold, & silver glitter), Flipside (electric teal with blue sheen), Flash (bright iridescent purple), Grifter (sheer lavender with lots of silver microglitter), Oil Slick (black with silver glitter), Uzi (metallic silver with big iridescent sparkles), Kiddie Pool (ocean blue with iridescent glitter), Twice Baked (brownie brown with gold glitter), Half Baked (subtle, lustrous bronze). What is super about this palette, unlike their others, is that the shadows are organized into duos, top matches the bottom. Not that you have to use them this way, but it does give you a starting point.
I Truly Lust After This: Dior's Holiday 2008 Palette
Is this not the most fantastic thing you have ever seen? This little palette is from Dior's Holiday 2008 collection, and isn't available yet, much to my dismay. Six shadows, Diorshow Blackout Mascara, DiorAddict gloss, a blush, and their new product for the collection, Dior Black Diamond Diamond-Effect Powder. Formulated with mother-of-pearl, this finishing powder is designed to give you a glamorous glow.
I must have it.
